What Works · Evidence file
Our fixes come
with receipts.
A fix is only worth proposing if there is evidence it works. This is the backbone behind every "Fix it" panel on the site: what the evidence says, and where it is weak. We state the counter-case in plain terms and never cheerlead.
Each entry gives a verdict, the evidence for it, and the honest counter-argument. Where the evidence is mixed we say so, and we shape the fix to fit the evidence rather than the other way round. That is what a think tank owes you: not assertion, but evidence. We cite.
A note on method
This prototype summarises well-established evidence to show the format of the file. In the live build each entry becomes a fuller, individually sourced note with the specific studies, dates and figures, updated as new evidence lands. Verdicts are the house position on the balance of evidence, not a claim of certainty.
